Ο frontman των U2, Bono, παραδέχθηκε πως δεν αντέχει πολλές φορές τον ήχο της φωνής του, θεωρώντας ότι ακούγεται «σαν κοριτσάκι». Η εφημερίδα The Daily Express ισχυρίζεται πως ο τραγουδιστής, που εμφανίστηκε στην εκπομπή "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" την Πέμπτη, 1 Δεκεμβρίου, είπε στην παρουσιάστρια πως δεν ήταν ποτέ ικανοποιημένος από τις φωνητικές του ικανότητες και ότι αποφεύγει -όσο μπορεί- να ακούει τραγούδια των U2. «Όντως προσπαθώ να το αποφεύγω (να ακούω τον εαυτό μου)», είπε. «Αν ακούσω κάποιο τραγούδι μας στο ραδιόφωνο, συνήθως το κλείνω. Όχι γιατί δε μου αρέσουν ή δεν πιστεύω σε αυτά. Βασικά η φωνή μου με ενοχλεί. Πάντα πιστεύω ότι θα μπορούσα να τα έχω τραγουδήσει καλύτερα». Και συνέχισε: «Είμαι ένας περήφανος Ιρλανδός και ειδικά σε μερικά τραγούδια των '80s νομίζω ότι ακούγομαι σαν κορίτσι».
